Foreshadowing and Sequence of Events

Foreshadowing: a writers use of hints or clues that suggest events that will occur later in a story. These might be included in characters' dialogue or behavior, or they might be included in details or description. Foreshadowing creates suspense and makes readers eager to find out what will happen.

Sequence of Events: the order in which things/events happen in the story

Chronological Order: presents things in the order that they occurred - this is especially useful if you are telling a story. This type of order uses keywords such as first, next, then, second, last, etc.
